All the ski trails at Chief Joseph pass were groomed this morning, with tracks set on most trails. Multi use trails may be groomed this afternoon, depending on weather and equipment availability.

All the ski trails at Chief Joseph were groomed today, except the lower trails(Middle Fork, Joseph Creek and Banshee) which need more a little more snow before the snowcat can get down them. We will be grooming them with snowmobiles again soon, but it’s not yet scheduled.

All trails at Como have been groomed. But they are still soft and the cover is thin. Expect to hit rocks. The new connector between upper and lower road is basically unskiable. Trails will probably be groomed again Friday.

Chief Joseph Pass was last groomed last Thursday. Trails will be groomed tomorrow. Multi use trails might not happen until friday. Ski trails will be regroomed as needed over the weekend.

The Bitterroot Ridge Runners groomed Skalkaho Pass Tuesday, and are planning on grooming Lost Horse today.

Today we started the process of grooming at Como. Started does NOT mean it’s ready to ski. There is 1 foot of snow at the bottom, and 2 feet at the top, but that compressed down to less than 3 inches in places, so while it looks like corduroy you are actually skiing on the ground. This should give us a good base to work on, and if storms come in as forecasted this week hopefully we will be skiing at Como next weekend.

Due to cold weather the ski trails at Chief Joseph Pass will not be groomed for at least the next 2 days.
The Darby Dog Derby has been cancelled.

The ski trails and multi use trails are being groomed this morning.
At 9 am it was 12 degrees at the pass, and it is only forecasted to get colder. Lows for the next few days are well below zero. Be prepared for extreme cold, or maybe just stay home.

Chief Joseph Pass has received 12 inches of snow in the last few days, and all trails are being groomed. But expect soft conditions. Most trails are being groomed with the snowcat from Lost Trail, but the lower ski trails are still being groomed with snowmobiles by our lead groomer, Tony. Hopefully after this storm cycle we will be able to groom all trails with the snowcat and get on a normal grooming schedule.

Ski trails were all groomed yesterday, no new snow since grooming. Multi use trails are being groomed this morning.

All of the XC ski trails at Chief Joseph Pass were groomed today by our snowmobile grooming crew. The lower trails, Banshee, Joseph Creek, and Middle Fork still have very this cover. They are normally black diamond, but right now they are more like double black diamond. We still need another foot of snow to be able to switch from snowmobile to snowcat grooming, but that may happen by next weekend.

Gibbons pass road was groomed to the pass yesterday. We need more snow to be able to groom any of the other multi use trails.
